Northside Humane Society

Welcome to Northside Humane Society  We are a rescue, shelter and adoption agency devoted to rescuing homeless, neglected or abused puppies, dogs, cats and kittens.

Our Business

Northside Humane Society's goal is to help end animal euthanasia and suffering where people are responsible for their pets, where there are no helpless creatures abandoned in boxes or left to fend for themselves in parking lots, where there is no longer a need for any healthy companion animal to be euthanized. There are many worthy organizations and individuals working toward this end. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit since June 2007.  Adoption fees  help defray the cost of care for the animals. Our organization relies on donations from interested individuals, organizations and businesses. Our application process ensures that every adopted animal is placed in an environment where there is appropriate space, human contact, and a commitment to safeguard and care for the animal for its entire lifetime. .

Our animals come from various sources and situations: placed at garbage dumps, parking lots and some from the rescue community, finding tame cats and kittens feeding with feral colonies. Newborn or senior, healthy, ill or injured, all are welcome when there is room.  Daily care of the animals is done both in the shelter and in the foster homes of volunteers,

                       

Tux was dumped at an apartment complex in Febuary 2009 at only 6 weeks old. He has found a new home.
